Anna October’s Fall Collection: A Study in Elegance and Sophistication
Anna October found inspiration for her fall collection in the distance. Working away from her usual atelier in Kyiv, the designer was able to focus on the deepness and richness of simple things, resulting in a collection that exuded elegance and sophistication.
Color played a central role in October’s design process. Starting with graphic black, she incorporated intense red, blue, and dusty makeup shades to create a palette that was both striking and refined. The designer aimed to move away from girly and playful aesthetics, opting instead for a more mature and polished look for fall.
One of the standout trends in October’s collection was the exposed shoulder, a carryover from pre-fall. The opening look, a chic off-the-shoulder LBD with impeccable construction to keep the straps in place, epitomized the designer’s vision for the season.
October’s silhouettes for fall were predominantly pencil straight and slim, showcasing her mastery of modular separates. From leather-look satin bombers to color-blocked corsets, each piece was designed to accentuate the figure with precision and grace. Lingerie-inspired details like corset hooks and garter belts added a touch of sensuality to the collection.
While October doesn’t cater to everyday wear, her pieces are perfect for special occasions. A rich brown jacquard dress with an elongated torso and full skirt exemplified the designer’s knack for creating garments that are ideal for dancing the night away.
