Concealed Carry Holder Injured in Shootout with Car Burglars in Chicago
On Tuesday morning, a 66-year-old concealed carry holder in Chicago was injured in a shootout with car burglars in the 1100 block of West Cullerton. This incident marks the second time this week that a concealed carry holder has been involved in a shootout with criminals.
Chicago police responded to reports of shots fired at 5:51 a.m. and found the man with a gunshot wound to his left leg. The victim, who is licensed to carry a concealed weapon, stated that he confronted two individuals near a parked car, leading to an argument and an exchange of gunfire. At least one of the offenders was armed with a rifle.
Approximately 20 shell casings were found at the scene, with bullets hitting the victim’s leg, his car, and another vehicle. The offenders fled in a Lexus sedan, which was later located by police in the 1500 block of South Kedvale.
Despite his injuries, the victim is reported to be in good condition. This incident comes just days after another concealed carry holder engaged in a shootout with car burglars in a separate incident.
