Shooting Incident in River North District Under Investigation
Chicago police are once again faced with investigating a shooting in the bustling River North nightlife district, marking the second weekend in a row of such incidents.
The most recent victim, a 39-year-old man, was found in critical condition after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds in the 300 block of West Ontario around 12:39 a.m. on Sunday. The man was hit in the mouth, back, and side by bullets.
Authorities discovered shell casings both in a nearby lot and inside a vehicle on the premises, leading them to believe that the victim was targeted by an assailant in a vehicle.
