Anthony Edwards rejoined the Minnesota Timberwolves’ lineup for their game against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday. Despite being listed as a starter, Edwards began the game on the bench and provided an unexpected reason for this choice.
“I was taking a s*it,” Edwards explained.
Thanks for the submission!

Edwards’ humorous reasoning was supported by his head coach, Chris Finch.
“Nature calls, I guess,” Finch commented on Edwards’ absence from the starting lineup.
This game marked Edwards’ first start since the Timberwolves faced the OKC Thunder earlier this month. He had been sidelined for six games due to right knee soreness and was making his return against the Mavericks.
Nevertheless, his return didn’t go as planned initially, as he was not present at tip-off even though he was named in the starting lineup. Fans had to wait a bit longer to see Edwards in action, but he quickly found his rhythm upon entering the game.
Edwards scored 17 points and provided four assists, shooting 66.7% from three-point range in just 23 minutes. His performance was pivotal in the Timberwolves’ commanding 124-94 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, helping Minnesota in their playoff pursuit.
Currently sitting in fifth place with a 46-29 record, the Timberwolves are on track for the playoffs. However, with the Suns only 4.5 games behind in seventh, Minnesota aims to win their remaining games to secure their playoff spot.
Meanwhile, Edwards, nicknamed Ant-Man, is eager to gain significant playing time in upcoming games to regain his full form before the playoffs.
Anthony Edwards reflects on his return while praising his backcourt partners
Anthony Edwards made his much-anticipated return on Monday after being out for more than six games due to a knee injury. His performance on his return was impressive, and he was asked about his feelings during the postgame interview.
In typical fashion, Edwards gave a memorable response.
“Like a kid in the candy store,” Edwards remarked.
He was also asked about his partnership with backcourt players Ayo Dosunmu and Donte DiVincenzo. Edwards praised them and explained how they complement his style of play.
“Well, they play fast, I play slow, so I think it’s a good combination of both,” Edwards noted. “But they definitely make me run a little bit more, so it’s actually good for me, especially going into the playoffs. I get my cardio up.”
The Timberwolves will now head east for a two-game stretch where they will face the Detroit Pistons and the Philadelphia 76ers.
