Anthropic’s revenue growth is not only rapid but accelerating. The company’s annualized revenue run rate, which forecasts a year’s revenue based on a recent period, exceeded $65 billion by the end of July, as reported by Bloomberg on Monday. This marks an increase from $47 billion in May and just $9 billion at the close of last year.
Anthropic did not promptly respond to a request for comment.
According to the Financial Times, investors in the company anticipate that it will maintain a similar growth pace throughout the rest of the year, concluding 2026 with revenues between $100 billion and $120 billion.
In contrast, OpenAI, Anthropic’s competitor, has seen its revenue double to $40 billion from $20 billion at the end of 2025, according to a Bloomberg report last week.
Although the two companies may use different methods to calculate their revenue metrics, it is Anthropic’s growth rate that has captured the greater interest of investors compared to OpenAI’s.
Both firms have submitted confidential IPO filings, with Anthropic expected to enter public markets ahead of OpenAI, possibly by this fall. Anthropic aims for a public valuation of $2 trillion or more, as reported by the Financial Times, potentially marking the largest market debut in history.
Anthropic’s valuation was most recently set at $965 billion in late May, coinciding with a $65 billion funding round.
