Senator Bernie Sanders is set to make a splash in Los Angeles on April 12 as part of his ongoing “Fighting Oligarchy Tour.” Joining him for this latest rally will be none other than Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, adding her star power to the event.
The Sanders communications team shared the following details:
On April 12th, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will host Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) in downtown Los Angeles for the kickoff of the fourth segment of his national “Fighting Oligarchy: Where We Go From Here” tour, featuring a rally at Grand Park. Ocasio-Cortez recently joined Sanders for events across Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado.
Stay tuned for additional event announcements in the coming days.
Thus far, the Fighting Oligarchy Tour has attracted a staggering 107,981 participants across seven states. The latest leg has set records, including the largest political rally ever in Arizona and drawing over 34,000 attendees in Denver, Colorado—marking Sanders’ largest crowd to date. Overall, livestreams of the tour have amassed more than 5 million views.
Anticipation is high for the Los Angeles rally, and if you’re considering attending, the Sanders team encourages RSVPs. Although tickets aren’t necessary, the event’s park setting should provide ample space for all. Given Los Angeles’ notorious traffic, it’s wise to opt for public transportation, ride-sharing, or carpooling.
The Fighting Oligarchy Tour has swiftly become one of the most significant political events early this year. While mainstream media outlets seem taken aback by its success, Democrats and progressives are far from surprised.
Sen. Sanders has cultivated one of the most formidable grassroots movements in American politics, and when he calls for mobilization, people respond.
The appeal of these rallies lies in Sanders’ enduring focus on crucial issues like income inequality, the plight of working individuals, and the overpowering influence of the billionaire class.
With the addition of Ocasio-Cortez, Sanders may very well surpass Denver’s attendance, drawing in an even larger crowd. Moreover, several swing districts in Southern California will benefit from hearing the critical messages of the Fighting Oligarchy.
As the Fighting Oligarchy tour clearly illustrates, the movement is only just beginning.
