The iPhone 17 series is generating a lot of buzz in the tech world, with rumours and leaks providing some insight into what we can expect from Apple’s next flagship lineup. While nothing is official until Apple makes an announcement, here’s a summary of what we know so far about the iPhone 17 series.

Expected to be announced on 9 September 2025, the iPhone 17 lineup is likely to follow the traditional Apple release schedule. Pre-orders are expected to open the following Friday, with devices shipping a week later. Recent iPhone models have followed a similar timeline, with the iPhone 16 released on 9 September 2024.

In terms of pricing, the lineup is expected to see a slight increase from the previous year. The Plus model is rumored to be replaced by a new ‘Air’ model, with speculated prices as follows:
– iPhone 17: £799/$799
– iPhone 17 Air: £899/$899
– iPhone 17 Pro: £1,099/$1,099
– iPhone 17 Pro Max: £1,199/$1,199

Specs and features of the iPhone 17 lineup are also starting to take shape. All models are expected to feature LTPO displays, with the Pro models likely to receive an upgrade to 120Hz ProMotion displays. The front-facing camera is rumored to get a bump to 24MP, and the iPhone 17 Air is expected to be incredibly thin, measuring less than 5.6mm in thickness.

The performance of the iPhone 17 series is expected to be powered by Apple’s A19 chip, with the Pro models likely to get the more powerful A19 Pro. The Pro Max model is rumored to feature 12GB of RAM, while the other models will stick with 8GB. Apple is also said to be adopting vapour chamber cooling across all models for improved thermal performance.

Camera upgrades are also on the cards, with the front-facing camera getting a significant boost to 24MP and the Pro Max model rumored to feature three 48MP cameras. Battery and charging technology is expected to see innovations, including an electrically-induced battery removal technology.

The software side of things is also getting an upgrade, with the iPhone 17 series expected to launch with iOS 19 and new features. While details are still scarce, it’s likely that Google Gemini will be integrated into iOS 19.

Overall, the iPhone 17 series is shaping up to be an exciting lineup with a host of new features and improvements. As we await more news, it’s worth keeping an eye on the iPhone 16 series to see what Apple has to offer and where to buy it. Stay tuned for more updates on the iPhone 17 series as they become available.
