iPhone Pro and Pro Max
The Pro and Pro Max models are offered in four colors: Burgundy, Glacier (icy blue), Silver, and Black. Their design closely mirrors last year’s revamped models, with a notable change being the color-matched back panels, aligning them with the rest of the phone’s body. This change is seen as a significant enhancement.
This year’s updates include:
- A20 Pro chipset paired with an upgraded C2 modem
- A smaller Dynamic Island with better functionality
- An enhanced vapor chamber
- Extended battery life offering up to 43 hours of video playback
- Advanced Apple Intelligence
iPhone 18 base model (expected in spring 2027)
Rumors suggest the iPhone 18 may see a downgrade in one area compared to the iPhone 17. Apple plans to revert to Samsung’s M12+ material for the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e displays.
In contrast, the iPhone 18 Pro is anticipated to feature Samsung’s latest M16 material for its display. The primary distinction between M12+ and M16 technologies lies in luminous efficiency, affecting the energy required to produce light. Consequently, the iPhone 18 might be less energy-efficient than its predecessor, although this will be partially mitigated by the new 2nm A20 chip. However, this means the A20 chip will have to exert more effort in this model.
