Apple Working on Building ChatGPT-like App with New Answers Team

Apple is reportedly forming a new team called Answers, Knowledge, and Information to develop a ChatGPT-like app, as per a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

The team’s main focus is on creating an “answer engine” that can provide responses to user queries using information sourced from various websites. This technology could be integrated into a standalone app or enhance search functionalities within Siri, Safari, and other Apple products.

Gurman’s report also mentions that Apple is actively recruiting for positions within this team, seeking individuals with expertise in search algorithms and engine development.

Although Apple has already incorporated ChatGPT into Siri, there have been delays in rolling out a more advanced, AI-powered update for the voice assistant. Furthermore, Apple may need to revisit its search partnership with Google following the latter’s recent antitrust issues.
