Bill Camp Joins Cast of Apple TV+ Series Based on Lars Kepler’s Joona Linna Books
Bill Camp is set to join the star-studded cast of Apple TV+‘s highly anticipated series inspired by Lars Kepler’s Joona Linna books. The talented actor will be joining Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz, and Stephen Graham in this gripping drama series, which was first announced to be in development in 2023 and officially greenlit for 10 episodes in May. Filming is scheduled to kick off this summer in Pittsburgh.
The untitled series follows the story of Jonah Lynn (played by Schreiber), a former soldier turned homicide detective who relocates to a quaint town in Western Pennsylvania in search of a peaceful life. However, his tranquility is shattered when a ruthless serial killer named Jurek Walter (portrayed by Graham) begins terrorizing the town and Jonah’s family. As Jonah races against time to protect his loved ones, he must confront his past and make difficult choices to stop the killer. When the hunt for Jurek’s final victim leads Jonah to send his adopted daughter FBI Agent Saga Bauer (played by Beetz) after the elusive criminal, the stakes are raised to new heights.
In this thrilling series, Bill Camp will be taking on the role of Chief Ellison, the dedicated police chief who plays a crucial role in the investigation. This marks Camp’s return to Apple TV+, having previously appeared in Season 1 of the acclaimed legal drama “Presumed Innocent.” Known for his Emmy-nominated performance in HBO’s “The Night Of” and his roles in hit shows like “The Queen’s Gambit” and “The Outsider,” Camp brings a wealth of talent and experience to the project.
The series is helmed by accomplished writers and showrunners Rowan Joffe and John Hlavin, with Schreiber and Beetz serving as executive producers. The first two episodes will be directed by Tim Van Patten, who also serves as an executive producer. The series is a collaboration between A+E Studios and Range Studios, with a stellar lineup of producers and creative minds working behind the scenes.
Lars Kepler, the pseudonym for the writing duo Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril, is the mastermind behind the Joona Linna book series. Their first novel, “The Hypnotist,” was a massive success and has since been adapted into various forms, including a Swedish film. With over 18 million copies of their books sold worldwide, Lars Kepler’s gripping storytelling has captivated audiences around the globe.
