Arnold Schwarzenegger Reflects on Immigration and Responsibility on The View

Arnold Schwarzenegger made a powerful statement on The View when Joy Behar inquired about his thoughts on the ongoing immigration protests. Rather than getting embroiled in the political debate, the former governor chose to share his personal immigration journey, emphasizing the importance of following the rules and giving back to the country that embraced him.

During his appearance to promote Season 2 of his Netflix series Fubar, the conversation shifted to Schwarzenegger’s own experience as an immigrant. Behar asked the 77-year-old about his reaction to the actions of ICE, to which he responded with gratitude and pride for the opportunities America had provided him.

“I’m so proud and happy that I was embraced by the American people like that,” he expressed. “I came here at the age of 21 with absolutely nothing and was able to create a successful career. In no other country could I have achieved what I did.”

The audience erupted in applause as Schwarzenegger credited America for enabling his bodybuilding, acting, and political accomplishments.

He emphasized the importance of immigrants following the legal process and behaving responsibly when in the country. “You have to do things legally, and when you come to America, you’re a guest. You need to act like a guest and give back to the community,” he stated.

Schwarzenegger highlighted the significance of contributing to programs like after-school initiatives and Special Olympics to make America a better place.

When questioned about the ICE response to protests in California, Schwarzenegger maintained his stance on responsibility and giving back. He urged immigrants to contribute to their communities without expecting anything in return.

Online reactions praised Schwarzenegger for refusing to engage in divisive political rhetoric and instead focusing on unity and civic duty. Fans commended him for steering clear of controversy and advocating for a positive contribution to society.
