Arturo Gatti Jr. was discovered deceased in his residence this week at only 17 years old… under circumstances hauntingly reminiscent of his father, the boxing legend Arturo Gatti.
Chuck Zito, the former bodyguard of Gatti (also an actor and stuntman), shared the distressing news on social media early Wednesday morning, confirming the teen’s unfortunate demise.
“It’s with a profoundly heavy heart that I must announce… R.I.P. to 17-year-old ARTURO GATTI JR., who was found hanging in an apartment in Mexico yesterday, resembling how his father was found in an apartment in Brazil 16 years ago,” wrote Zito.
It’s currently unclear if foul play is being investigated.
After more than 16 years, the circumstances surrounding Gatti’s demise still spark intrigue, as many believe that it wasn’t suicide, as claimed in the official narrative, but rather that he was murdered.
Born in Montreal in 2008, Gatti Jr. was set on following in his father’s illustrious boxing path before his untimely death.
Gatti was cherished in the boxing community, recognized as a fierce competitor with immense courage in the ring.
Rest in peace.
