The Biden administration recently announced that premiums, benefits, and plan choices for Medicare Advantage and the Medicare Part D prescription drug program will remain stable in 2025. This news comes from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) ahead of the open enrollment period where millions of seniors will be choosing or changing their Medicare benefits for the upcoming year.

During open enrollment, seniors will also have the opportunity to vote for the next President between Democrat and Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. Premiums are expected to decrease for drug plans and Medicare Advantage plans, making them less likely to be an election issue.

The Inflation Reduction Act, a key legislative achievement of the Biden-Harris administration, has played a significant role in reducing prescription drug costs and enhancing benefits for Medicare beneficiaries. The Act includes an annual cap of $2,000 on out-of-pocket drug costs.

Seniors will receive more detailed information during the Medicare Open Enrollment period, which runs from October 15 to December 7. Private health insurers administering Medicare Advantage and drug plans will present various options for seniors to choose from.

While some disruptions may occur due to recent Medicare Advantage policy changes, the average premiums for both stand-alone Medicare Part D plans and Medicare Advantage plans are projected to decrease in 2025. More than half of eligible Medicare beneficiaries are enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans, which offer additional benefits beyond traditional Medicare.

CMS Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure emphasized the stability and affordability of Medicare coverage options for 2025. It is advised that seniors review their options during open enrollment, as research shows that many do not compare plans to find the best fit for their needs.

Improvements for 2025 include capped annual out-of-pocket costs for drugs, expanded access to mental health and substance use disorder treatment services, and increased protections against predatory marketing practices. The goal is to ensure that Medicare enrollees have access to comprehensive and affordable coverage options. “10 Tips for Better Time Management”

Time management is a crucial skill that can greatly impact our productivity and overall success in both our personal and professional lives. With so many demands on our time, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and struggle to stay on top of tasks. However, by implementing some simple strategies and tips, we can improve our time management skills and make the most of each day. Here are 10 tips for better time management:

1. Set clear goals: Before you start your day, take some time to set clear goals for what you want to accomplish. By having a clear direction, you will be able to prioritize tasks and focus on what is most important.

2. Create a to-do list: A to-do list can be a powerful tool for managing your time. Write down all the tasks you need to complete and prioritize them based on importance and deadlines.

3. Use a planner: A planner can help you stay organized and keep track of your schedule. Use it to plan out your day, week, or month, and make sure to allocate time for both work and personal activities.

4. Break tasks into smaller steps: Large tasks can often feel overwhelming, leading to procrastination. Break tasks into smaller, more manageable steps to make them feel less daunting and easier to tackle.

5. Set deadlines: Setting deadlines for tasks can help you stay focused and motivated to complete them on time. Make sure to set realistic deadlines that are achievable but still challenging.

6. Eliminate distractions: Identify any distractions that may be hindering your productivity, such as social media, email notifications, or noisy environments. Take steps to eliminate or minimize these distractions to stay focused on your work.

7. Prioritize tasks: Not all tasks are created equal. Prioritize tasks based on their importance and urgency, and focus on completing high-priority tasks first.

8. Delegate tasks: You don’t have to do everything yourself. Delegate tasks to others when possible to free up time for more important or high-value activities.

9. Take breaks: It’s important to take regular breaks throughout the day to rest and recharge. Short breaks can help improve focus and productivity and prevent burnout.

10. Reflect and adjust: At the end of each day, take some time to reflect on what you accomplished and what could have been done better. Use this reflection to adjust your time management strategies and improve your efficiency in the future.

By implementing these 10 tips for better time management, you can take control of your schedule, improve your productivity, and achieve your goals more effectively. Remember that time management is a skill that can be developed and improved over time, so be patient with yourself as you work towards mastering this important skill.
