Kelly confidently buried the ball into the back of the net, securing England’s place in the final and sending the Lionesses into a frenzy of celebration. The goal was a full-circle moment for Kelly, who once again proved to be a clutch performer in high-pressure situations.

“It’s an unbelievable feeling to score that goal and to help the team get to the final. This team has fought so hard throughout this tournament, and I’m just grateful to be able to contribute when it mattered most,” Kelly said after the game.

England’s victory over Italy sets up a highly anticipated final against either Spain or Germany, two powerhouse teams in women’s football. Regardless of the opponent, England will need to start stronger and avoid falling behind early if they hope to secure another title. With the resilience and fighting spirit they have shown throughout the tournament, the Lionesses are poised to make history once again.

As the final whistle blew and England’s victory was sealed, the Lionesses celebrated their hard-fought win, knowing that they had once again defied the odds and proved themselves as true contenders on the international stage. The journey to the final has been a rollercoaster of emotions, but England’s determination and never-say-die attitude have carried them through to the brink of glory. Now, with one final match standing between them and another Euro title, the Lionesses are ready to leave it all on the field and make their mark on women’s football history once again.

In a thrilling match, the keeper initially saved the penalty attempt but gave up a rebound, allowing Kelly to react quickly and slot the ball over the line. Some may argue it was luck, but the result stands – England is through to the final with a renewed sense of confidence.

“We have the hope, we have the belief, and we have the quality, so we just need to keep at it and keep working hard at training to make sure we’re right next weekend,” Kelly commented after the game.

For Italy, the loss marked the end of a remarkable run. Ranked 13th globally, Andrea Soncin’s squad exceeded expectations throughout the tournament. However, England’s roster depth and overall tournament experience proved to be the deciding factor. The Lionesses will now compete in their third consecutive major final (Euro 2022, World Cup 2023, Euro 2025) on Sunday, awaiting the winner of Spain vs. Germany.

The match was a testament to the resilience and determination of both teams, with England ultimately emerging victorious. As they look ahead to the final, the Lionesses will undoubtedly be focused on maintaining their momentum and securing another major title. Stay tuned for what promises to be an exciting showdown on Sunday.
