Ashton Kutcher Talks About Challenges of Being Typecast Due to His Looks
Ashton Kutcher, known for his good looks and charming personality, recently opened up about the struggles he faces in Hollywood due to his appearance. Despite being rich, famous, and married to the stunning Mila Kunis, Kutcher revealed that his looks have often hindered him from landing certain roles that require a more “gritty” or unconventional appearance.
“I think every role you get, part of it is what you look like, right? It’s a very big part of what you’re imbuing as the character … there are roles that I haven’t gotten because of the way I look. Sometimes it’s frustrating,” Kutcher shared in a recent interview.
While Kutcher acknowledges that his looks have also helped him secure certain roles, such as his portrayal of a handsome gigolo in the film Spread and his upcoming series The Beauty, he expressed frustration at being typecast based on his appearance.
Despite his success in romantic comedies and roles that capitalize on his good looks, Kutcher emphasized the importance of being able to portray characters that are different from himself. “Sometimes it’s frustrating,” he admitted, highlighting the challenges he faces in breaking away from the stereotype of the handsome leading man.
As Kutcher continues to navigate the entertainment industry, he remains committed to exploring a diverse range of roles that challenge him as an actor, regardless of his appearance.
