Overnight in Chicago, a series of robberies and carjackings occurred in various neighborhoods, including Boystown, Lincoln Park, and River North. Chicago police are investigating at least five incidents, with some potentially linked to the same armed crew. As of now, no arrests have been made.

The first reported incident took place around 1:30 a.m. in Lincoln Park outside a bar. Two armed men approached a man on North Lincoln Avenue and stole his gray Dodge Charger. The stolen vehicle, along with a silver Hyundai reported stolen, fled the scene. The Charger was later found abandoned near Goose Island.

Shortly after, around 1:55 a.m., another armed robbery occurred in Lincoln Park on West Wrightwood Avenue. Three armed men threatened two individuals, ages 25 and 26, stole their wallets and phones, and fled the scene. Police located the getaway car unoccupied on North Clark Street and recovered some of the stolen items.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., a 29-year-old woman was robbed on North Clark Street by three armed men who displayed rifles and handguns. The suspects took her valuables before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The offenders in these incidents were described as Black males wearing all black clothing and masks. A similar description was provided for the suspects in the earlier Lincoln Park robberies.

Around 3:10 a.m., in Boystown near Roscoe and Halsted streets, four men attempted to rob another individual of his phone. The victim managed to hold onto his phone and escape from the scene. The robbers, described as Black men in their early to mid-20s, fled west on Roscoe Street.

The last reported incident occurred at approximately 4:20 a.m. in River North on North Clark Street. Two men from a black SUV robbed a man and woman before fleeing. The suspects were described as a heavyset Black man with dreadlocks and another Black man in dark clothing.

As investigations continue into these disturbing events, the Chicago community remains vigilant. Any information related to these incidents should be reported to the authorities. Stay safe, stay aware, and support efforts to maintain the safety of our neighborhoods.
