At least 80 new tech unicorns were minted in 2025 so far

The startup ecosystem is buzzing with excitement as AI continues to drive investor interest, leading to the emergence of more unicorn companies each month.

A recent analysis by JS, using data from Crunchbase and PitchBook, has identified several VC-backed startups that have achieved unicorn status in the current year. While many of these unicorns are AI-centric, there are also a surprising number of companies in various industries such as satellite space exploration and blockchain-based trading.

This list of unicorn startups is continuously evolving, so it’s worth revisiting to see the latest additions to the billion-dollar club.

November

Genspark— $1.25 billion: Genspark specializes in building AI agents for task automation. The company recently secured a $275 million Series B funding round, propelling its valuation to $1.25 billion. Notable investors include Emergence Capital Partners and LV Technology Ventures.

Gamma— $2.1 billion: Gamma focuses on AI-generated visuals like websites and has raised $68 million in a Series B round led by a16z, reaching a valuation of $2.1 billion.

October

Modal— $1.1 billion: Modal is an AI cloud computing platform that recently raised $87 million in a Series B round, bringing its valuation to $1.1 billion.

Fireworks AI— $4 billion: Fireworks AI, an AI infrastructure platform for open source models, raised $250 million in a Series C round, achieving a valuation of $4 billion.

Substrate— $1 billion: Substrate, a semiconductor fabrication company, raised $100 million in a seed round, reaching a valuation of $1 billion.

Shop My— $1.5 billion: Shop My is a marketing and affiliate platform that secured a $70 million Series B round, giving it a valuation of $1.5 billion.

LangChain— $1.3 billion: LangChain, an agent engineering platform, raised $125 million in a Series B round, reaching a valuation of $1.3 billion.
