Aurora Police Arrest Second Suspect in Connection with October Homicide

Aurora police announced on Tuesday the arrest of a second suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that took place last month. Diego Jimenez, a 26-year-old Aurora resident, was apprehended on suspicion of second-degree murder in relation to the incident near East 6th Avenue and Del Mar Circle on October 24. In addition to the murder charge, Jimenez was also taken into custody on outstanding warrants for aggravated motor vehicle theft in Weld County, as well as a theft warrant in Boulder.

Sheena Fuentes, 41, was previously arrested for her alleged involvement in the shooting, which authorities believe stemmed from an altercation between Jimenez and the victim.

The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.

Individuals with any information regarding the case are urged to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). Tipsters can choose to remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
