Aurora West College Preparatory Academy Soccer Coach Arrested for Child Sex Assault
A soccer coach at Aurora West College Preparatory Academy, Urlich Dahm, has been arrested on suspicion of child sex assault, announced the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office on Friday. Dahm, 67, is facing charges of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust as part of a pattern of abuse, a felony offense. The arrest warrant has been sealed to protect the victim’s privacy, as stated by the DA’s office in a news release.
The alleged assault took place between September 6 and February 7 while Dahm was coaching soccer at the school. Principal Ryan Adams informed parents and staff in a letter that the victim is a former student and that Dahm is no longer employed by the school or district.
Dahm joined Aurora Public Schools in 2018, with Adams mentioning that a background check conducted at the time did not reveal any prior inappropriate behavior or criminal activity. Adams did not disclose the circumstances of Dahm’s departure from the school.
“This allegation is deeply disturbing, and my focus will remain on supporting our AWCPA community,” Adams reassured.
Dahm is currently held without bond at the Adams County Detention Facility, as per court records. Information regarding his next court appearance is not immediately available.
