The Seoul-based Pinkfong Company, known for the global sensation “Baby Shark,” has announced a strategic partnership with Japanese broadcasting giant TBS Television. This collaboration aims to develop new family-friendly content and enhance Pinkfong’s presence in the Japanese market.
Pinkfong has achieved immense success with properties like “Baby Shark,” amassing over 15.8 billion YouTube views. Their newer creation, “Bebefinn,” has also garnered popularity, securing the top spot in 11 countries on Netflix and attracting over 50 million subscribers across its YouTube channels.
The partnership between Pinkfong and TBS Television will focus on creating original programming for young viewers and their families worldwide. Additionally, the collaboration seeks to strengthen the presence of “Bebefinn” in Japan through various distribution channels and events.
One of the first initiatives resulting from this partnership was Pinkfong’s participation in TBS’s “Play & Learn Festival,” where a “Bebefinn House” recreation was featured, along with Japan’s first sing-along show starring the Bebefinn siblings and “Baby Shark” attractions.
To further expand in Japan, Pinkfong has established a local office and plans to tour their live show, “Baby Shark Live! The Hidden Treasure,” across the country in 2025, with performances scheduled in Shizuoka, Tokyo, Chiba, Kobe, and other major cities.
Both companies have indicated that details of their co-developed content will be unveiled gradually throughout 2025, with the first announcement expected in the fall. Pinkfong CEO Min-seok Kim expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the opportunity to create engaging content for families worldwide.
