Amazon Prime Video‘s highly anticipated “Barbershop” TV series has just announced the addition of four talented recurring cast members. Bokeem Woodbine, Bresha Webb, Langston Kerman, and Tiana Okoye have all joined the show, which is set to continue the beloved story of the “Barbershop” film franchise. These new additions will be joining lead actor Jermaine Fowler, as well as Brett Gray, Punkie Johnson, Roy Wood Jr., and E.J. Bonilla.

The official logline of the show reveals that it will follow Travis “Trav” Porter, portrayed by Jermaine Fowler, as he strives to follow in the footsteps of his legendary grandfather, a barber at the iconic Calvin’s barbershop in Chicago. Despite having new barbers, the shop remains as lively as ever, with argumentative customers and top-notch fades, making Calvin’s the go-to spot in the city for more than just a haircut.

Bokeem Woodbine will be taking on the role of Hustle Mike in the series. Woodbine is no stranger to the screen, having been nominated for an Emmy for his role as Mike Milligan in the FX series “Fargo.” His impressive resume also includes roles in “Underground,” “Halo,” and “Wu-Tang: An American Saga,” as well as notable film appearances in “Ray,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” and “Crooklyn.”

Bresha Webb will be portraying Genevieve in the show, adding her own flair to the ensemble cast. Webb has recently been featured in popular shows like “Hacks,” “Run the World,” and “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” showcasing her versatility as an actress. She is also known for starring in the “Merry Liddle” TV movie franchise, with the latest installment premiering in 2021.

Langston Kerman will be recurring as Jeremy in the series, bringing his comedic talents to the barbershop. Tiana Okoye will be playing Naimah-Jade in the show, adding her own unique energy to the cast. Okoye is currently appearing in the Peacock action comedy series “Twisted Metal” and has previously been seen in shows like “The Good Place” and “Silicon Valley.”

The “Barbershop” series is being written by Marshall Todd, who co-wrote the original film, and Max Searle, who will also serve as co-showrunner. Executive producers include Kevin Hart, Bryan Smiley, Mike Stein, Bradley Gardner, Cameron Burnett, and Autumn Bailey-Ford. State Street Pictures will also be executive producing, with Tiffany Brown co-executive producing for Hartbeat Productions. Amazon MGM Studios will be producing the series.

With such a talented cast and creative team behind the scenes, the “Barbershop” series is shaping up to be a must-watch for fans of the franchise and newcomers alike. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project!
