When it comes to design inspiration, it’s not often that Audrey Hepburn’s iconic character, Holly Golightly, from Breakfast At Tiffany’s is paired with indie rock band Mazzy Star. However, for Baum und Pferdgarten’s resort 2026 collection, these two seemingly contrasting influences came together in a unique and unexpected way. Co-founder Helle Hestehave explained, “Holly is very full of hope and life, and for us, Mazzy Star’s music is more introverted. It was these two opposites that we found interesting to work with.”

This sense of duality was reflected in the collection through the use of black and white. While black is often associated with Golightly’s iconic Givenchy dress, it was white that symbolized her “lightness” in pieces like the opera coat printed with delicate pink roses and the matching shift dress and slip. On the other hand, black pieces like a minidress adorned with oversized flowers captured the indie spirit of Mazzy Star, with co-founder Rikke Baumgarten noting, “we could easily see lead singer Hope Sandoval wearing it on stage, with her Dr. Martens.” The collection also featured flannel outerwear and burgundy leather trousers that embodied this edgier aesthetic.

Despite the eclectic inspirations, Baum und Pferdgarten’s latest collection continued to focus on versatile staples that cater to a wide range of customers. From an eminently wearable navy duffle coat and matching midi-skirt to denim coordinates that offer endless styling options, the brand stayed true to their commitment to timeless pieces. The signature leopard print made an appearance as well, showcasing Baum’s successful pivot towards a more mature audience in recent seasons. Baumgarten explained, “We used to be much more about prints and puffs and bows, but we are now much more focused on pieces that can stand the test of time.”
