Chicago Bears legend Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael has passed away after a courageous battle with ALS.

Diagnosed with ALS in 2021, McMichael eventually became paralyzed from the shoulders down, facing immense challenges with incredible strength.
A close friend of McMichael, Jarrett Payton, shared the news of his passing, expressing deep sorrow and urging everyone to keep McMichael and his family in their thoughts and prayers.
McMichael’s legacy in the NFL is unparalleled, with 95 sacks, 14 forced fumbles, and one interception over his illustrious 15-year career. He was a key player in the Chicago Bears’ Super Bowl XX victory and received First-team All-Pro honors twice before being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2024.
