Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) was the keynote speaker at the Minnesota flagship No Kings rally, and he delivered an impactful speech.
Each No Kings rally has evolved based on the actions of the Trump administration. Initially, these events sought to counter overreach and DOGE. Subsequent rallies maintained these themes while also addressing ICE and Trump’s immigration policies.

During the No Kings rally, Sen. Bernie Sanders discussed the Iran war, offering a straightforward critique of the current situation.

Sanders stated:
It’s not only the Oligarchs and their boundless greed that we must confront.
As today’s news highlights, we must halt the unchecked militarism of the Trump administration—both domestically, in cities like Minneapolis-St. Paul, and internationally.
Let’s face it. The American public was deceived about the war in Vietnam. We were misled about the war in Iraq. And we are being deceived again today about the war in Iran. This war must end immediately.
In the last election, Donald Trump correctly pointed out the vast sums wasted on wars that should have been used to rebuild America. He ran as a “peace candidate,” promising to end “forever wars.” However, he has not kept his word.

Sanders also detailed the financial burden of the war and his plans to bring it to a close.
