The latest episode of “Yellowstone,” titled “Life Is a Promise,” aired on Sunday, Dec. 15, and left fans feeling like it could be the end of the series as they know it. The episode followed the aftermath of a major shakeup on the ranch, with characters saying their goodbyes and embarking on new journeys.

Jimmy, Mia, and Travis headed back to Texas, while Teeter promised to join them soon. Walker decided to follow his girlfriend on the rodeo circuit, and Beth revealed her plans to live on a ranch outside of Dillon with Rip. Meanwhile, Lloyd declined Rip’s job offer, feeling the need to find himself.

Beth and Rip prepared for John Dutton’s funeral, while Kayce shared his plan with Chief Rainwater to sell the Yellowstone to the Broken Rock Reservation for a symbolic price. The funeral scene was emotional, with Beth vowing retribution and Rip promising to take care of her.

A dramatic confrontation between Beth and Jamie ensued, resulting in Jamie’s demise. Beth and Rip then took Jamie’s body to the Train Station, as Beth vowed to work with the police to tie him to John and Sarah’s murders.

As the episode wrapped up, Ryan apologized to Abby and left with her, while Rip closed the bunkhouse door and Beth surveyed the empty main house with Kayce. The tribe took over the land, removing Dutton signage but preserving the graveyard.

The episode ended with a voiceover from Elsa Dutton, hinting at Kayce’s family and Rip starting ranching on their own terms. The future of the show looks promising, with Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser signing up for a new spinoff.
