As the wildfires continue to ravage Los Angeles, President Biden has taken swift action to provide support to the affected communities. Despite Republicans trying to shift blame for the fires, the federal government under Biden’s leadership has stepped up to assist in the firefighting efforts.

The Department of Defense has been mobilized to provide crucial support, including overnight infrared imaging for perimeter maps. The California National Guard has deployed 1,000 personnel, with 250 having firefighting capabilities. Additionally, Department of Defense bases in the area have been opened as shelters for displaced individuals and families, with over 1,000 beds available. March Reserve Base has also been established as an incident response area.

Overnight, firefighters from all levels of government have been working tirelessly to contain the fires. Progress has been made, with the Hurst fire near Sylmar now 70 percent contained, the Sunset fire in Hollywood Hills fully contained, and the Kenneth fire near West Hills 50 percent contained.

In response to the devastation, President Biden has authorized FEMA assistance through a Major Disaster Declaration. Over 16,000 people have already registered for this aid.

Today, President Biden reached out to local officials, including Los Angeles County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath and Ventura County Supervisor Kelly Long, to coordinate efforts and provide support.

In stark contrast, former President Donald Trump has been preoccupied with trivial matters on his social media platform. While Biden is focused on assisting those in need, Trump is more concerned with staff announcements, self-promotion, and baseless complaints about legal battles.

It is clear that President Biden is prioritizing the well-being of those affected by the wildfires and is committed to providing the necessary support to the communities in need. His proactive approach stands in stark contrast to the inaction and indifference displayed by his predecessor.
