During his attempt to persuade House Republicans to pass his Big Beautiful Bill, Donald Trump encountered a small hiccup due to a spelling error.
Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) revealed that he was one of the GOP lawmakers “summoned” to the White House for a meeting with the president regarding his tax and spending legislation.
However, a minor mishap occurred when Burchett’s name placard in the Cabinet Room was missing the “R.” According to The New York Times, Trump personally added the missing letter to correct the tag.
Seeking to impress, the president then signed both sides of the placard and returned it to Burchett as a souvenir, as reported by the lawmaker.
Burchett later shared a video discussing his visit on X (formerly Twitter), describing the meeting with Trump and Vice President JD Vance as “very productive.”
He praised the president for being informative and funny, mentioning that Trump even complimented him on his TV appearances. Burchett also mentioned that Trump signed various items for him, which he found to be “cool.”
