‘Big Brother’ Star Arrested …
For Embezzling State Taxes

“Big Brother” star Memphis Garrett has been arrested for allegedly owing the state of Florida a significant amount of money, over $50,000 in taxes collected from his businesses.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed to TMZ that he was arrested Thursday on a warrant issued by the Department of Revenue, and he remains in custody as his $15,000 bond has not been satisfied.
According to official documents obtained by TMZ, Memphis, whose real name is Robert Garrett, is facing a second-degree felony charge for the theft of state funds.
The state alleges that the reality star-turned-restaurateur collected $55,366.77 in sales taxes between November 2022 and October 2024 through his LLC Poke House Lauderdale, operating as The Poke House and No Man’s Land Miami LLC, and failed to remit those taxes to the state.
The state is adamant about recovering the owed taxes. We have reached out to Memphis’ representatives for comment but have not received a response yet.
It has been a challenging year for Memphis. In March 2024, he and his former “Big Brother” co-star and wife, Christmas Abbott, went through a public split.
Their divorce proceedings were marred by allegations of domestic violence, leading Christmas to seek a restraining order, which she later withdrew in May 2024.
Despite his various business endeavors, it appears that Memphis may have been preoccupied to the point of neglecting his tax obligations to the state.
