Lara Trump agreed with Maher’s sentiments, noting that it is essential to have a diversity of perspectives in media coverage. She expressed optimism about the shift away from left-leaning bias that Weiss has initiated at CBS.

In addition to praising Weiss, Maher also celebrated the recent defunding of two left-wing media outlets, NPR and PBS, by the Trump administration. Maher, who has been critical of media biases in the past, expressed no regrets about the loss of funding for these outlets, which he views as excessively partisan.
