Women’s tennis has reached new heights, with the latest list of highest-paid female athletes by Sportico showcasing Coco Gauff at the top with earnings of $31 million. This milestone has been celebrated by tennis legend Billie Jean King, who sees it as a testament to the dominance of women’s tennis stars over athletes from other sports.

The list features a strong presence of women’s tennis players, with Gauff leading the pack, followed by Aryna Sabalenka in second place with $30 million, Iga Swiatek in third with $23.1 million, Zheng Qinwen in fifth with $20.6 million, and other notable names such as Madison Keys, Elena Rybakina, Naomi Osaka, Amanda Anisimova, Jessica Pegula, and Venus Williams making the top 15.

Billie Jean King expressed her joy at seeing 10 out of the top 15 earners being tennis players, highlighting the sport’s continued success in the world of female athletics.

Gauff’s impressive earnings of $31 million included $8 million from tournament prize money and a significant $23 million from endorsement deals. As a two-time Grand Slam champion following her victory at Roland Garros against Aryna Sabalenka, Gauff has solidified her position as a rising star in the tennis world. Off the court, she has secured partnerships with New Balance and Miu Miu, launching signature collections with both brands and investing in the 3×3 Basketball league, Unrivaled.

Sabalenka, on the other hand, leads the list in terms of prize money, earning $15 million from tournaments this year. With multiple tournament wins, including the US Open, and a second consecutive year as World No. 1, Sabalenka has proven her prowess on the court. Off the court, she has reaped the rewards of her success with lucrative deals from Nike, Wilson, Audemars Piguet, Whoop, Electrolit, and IM8, bringing her total endorsement earnings to $15 million.

Looking ahead, Sabalenka is gearing up for an exhibition match against men’s tennis star Nick Kyrgios in the Battle of Sexes, a modern-day tribute to the historic showdown between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs in 1973.

The success of these women’s tennis stars not only reflects their talent on the court but also their ability to leverage their brand off the court. With a strong presence in both tournament earnings and endorsements, players like Gauff and Sabalenka are setting new standards for women’s tennis and inspiring the next generation of athletes.

As the tennis world continues to evolve, these top earners serve as role models for aspiring athletes, showcasing the rewards of hard work, dedication, and strategic partnerships. The future looks bright for women’s tennis, with these trailblazing players leading the way towards greater recognition and success in the sport.
