Celebrate Black history all year long with a collection of printable Black scientist posters. In collaboration with Ward’s Science and professional book illustrator Kim Holt, we have created a stunning set of original artworks featuring four accomplished scientists. These posters are not only educational but also perfect for framing and displaying in your space.

How can you make use of these posters? You can hang them on your walls to add a touch of inspiration, project them on a screen for engaging discussions, use them to commemorate Black History Month in February, or incorporate them into your curriculum to educate students about significant scientists throughout the school year.

Let’s take a closer look at the remarkable Black scientists featured in these posters:

Emmett Chappelle: As a biochemist and astrochemist, Chappelle developed a groundbreaking method for detecting life on Mars and held 14 patents in the United States for his innovative work.

Mae Jemison, MD: Jemison, an astronaut and physician, made history as the first Black woman to travel to space aboard the Endeavour Space Shuttle in 1993.

George Washington Carver: This agricultural chemist revolutionized the field by introducing alternative crops like peanuts and sweet potatoes, significantly impacting the future of agriculture.

Shirley Ann Jackson, PhD: A physicist, Jackson conducted groundbreaking research that led to the development of technologies such as the fax machine, fiber-optic cells, and caller ID.
