Two boaters found themselves in a heated altercation while out on Florida waters earlier this week, leading to an investigation by local authorities. The incident unfolded on Tuesday when Gage Towles, a fisherman, was approached by Brock Horner, a visibly angry self-proclaimed charter captain.
In a video shared by Towles on his YouTube page, Horner can be seen confronting Towles over an alleged incident that occurred a few days prior. Horner repeatedly questioned Towles about why he or his companions had used foul language towards him as he passed underneath a bridge. Towles denied using any offensive language but acknowledged that others with him may have been upset by Horner’s speed as he passed by.
The argument escalated as Horner boarded Towles’ boat in a threatening manner. Towles pleaded with him to calm down and repeatedly apologized, emphasizing that he was just a young individual. After a tense exchange, Towles eventually escorted Horner back to his boat, diffusing the situation.
The Punta Gorda Police Department released a statement confirming that a police report had been filed regarding the incident, with detectives actively investigating the matter. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and the U.S. Coast Guard have also joined the investigation to provide assistance.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection to the altercation. TMZ Sports reached out to Towles for comment, but as of now, there has been no response. The investigation continues as authorities work to determine the full extent of the incident and any necessary actions to be taken.
