Conservative podcaster Brandon Tatum has weighed in on Ben Shapiro’s critique of Megyn Kelly. For those unfamiliar, Kelly and Shapiro have recently been involved in a heated online exchange. Their disagreement dates back to December of last year when Shapiro criticized the former Fox News host at AmFest for not speaking out against Candace Owens.
The conflict resurfaced when Megyn Kelly mocked Ben Shapiro’s viewership. In a March 5 X post, Kelly claimed her YouTube views in February surpassed Shapiro’s by 117 million. The following day, Shapiro responded on his podcast, asserting that Megyn Kelly is solely focused on garnering clicks.
Shapiro, a host on The Daily Wire, argued that Kelly’s courage only extends as far as the clicks go. He accused Kelly of being “pro-trans” and supporting Israel until she faced backlash. Additionally, he noted that Kelly, who had backed Erika Kirk, failed to address Candace Owens’ comments about Kirk’s widow. He criticized her for engaging in discussions on every topic except Owens’ theories about Erika Kirk.
On March 28, influencer Eyal Yakoby posted a clip of Ben Shapiro’s comments on X. Brandon Tatum responded to the post, stating:
“Ben has been on point a lot lately!!”
In September of the previous year, an X user had urged Kelly to distance herself from Candace Owens. Kelly responded by asserting she has “no obligation” to dissociate from anyone. She further stated:
“If you need me to condemn Candace or Tucker for their opinions in order to listen to me, then I may not be for you.”
At that time, Brandon Tatum supported Kelly’s stance and advised her to ignore such demands.
“Don’t let them get to you. Screw these people. Only idiots would be mad at you. They deserve no oxygen,” Tatum commented.
However, Tatum later criticized Kelly after she suggested that Charlie Kirk’s views on Israel were changing shortly before his death. In his November 12 podcast, Tatum expressed disapproval of Kelly’s remarks and questioned the narrative around Charlie Kirk’s beliefs.
Brandon Tatum’s recent critique of Megyn Kelly
In January, Megyn Kelly expressed skepticism regarding President Trump’s actions on Venezuela during her podcast, stating she was in “yellow light territory” until further details emerged. Brandon Tatum criticized Kelly for her indecisiveness, labeling her “milquetoast.”
“I’m going to tell you how fake these people are. They want to play in the middle because ‘I don’t want to be wrong’… You do what you need to do in good faith and do the best you can. You don’t, you’re not God. You don’t know what the outcome is… That’s why, and I’m not saying women, but woman like this can’t lead,” Tatum remarked.
Tatum once again critiqued Kelly in his March 3 podcast after she questioned the government’s actions on Iran.
Meanwhile, Megyn Kelly addressed Ben Shapiro’s criticism in her March 12 X post. She explained that she refrained from commenting on Owens’ theories to avoid drawing attention to negative remarks about Erika Kirk.
