Braun Strowman, the former WWE champion who was recently released by the company, has embraced a new nickname for himself post his departure. Strowman’s final match with WWE took place on the April 18 edition of SmackDown, where he teamed up with LA Knight to secure a victory against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in a tag team match.
In a recent social media post ahead of tonight’s SmackDown, Strowman shared his enjoyment of life and referred to himself as the “Yacht Master.” He posted a video of a yacht, showcasing his luxurious lifestyle and captioned it with, “Life has a funny way of working out doesn’t it??!!!! 😉 #YachtMaster.”
Along with Strowman, several other notable names like Shayna Baszler, Katana Chance, Kayden Carter, Gigi Dolin, and Cora Jade were also released by WWE this month.
Wrestling veteran Bill Apter weighed in on Strowman’s release from the company, suggesting that WWE may not have had long-term plans for the powerhouse wrestler. Apter mentioned on Sportskeeda’s podcast, The Wrestling Time Machine, that WWE possibly did not see Strowman fitting into their future storylines, leading to his release.
Strowman had engaged in intense battles with Jacob Fatu leading up to WrestleMania 41. Fatu eventually went on to capture the United States Championship from LA Knight at the event, and he is set to defend the title at Backlash. It remains to be seen if Strowman will have the opportunity to return to WWE in the future.
Overall, Strowman’s release has sparked discussions within the wrestling community, and fans are eager to see what the future holds for the Monster Among Men in the world of professional wrestling.
