Kathrine Calder-Ritchie and her husband consider their pet ram, Bo, to be like a child to them. So when Bo was stolen from a paddock in Little River, the couple was devastated. However, thanks to a tip-off, a $1000 reward, and some courage against police advice, Bo was safely returned to his rightful home in Springston.

Bo was taken from a paddock where Calder-Ritchie had placed their animals in preparation for a property shift later that month. Witnesses reported seeing three men in a red sedan taking Bo, believed to have been lifted over a padlocked gate and placed in the car’s boot.

Calder-Ritchie feared the worst when Bo was stolen, thinking he may have been taken for meat. She posted about the theft on a local Facebook group, receiving a reply with information on Bo’s whereabouts. This led her to a Burnham property, which she visited despite police advice against it.

After some back and forth, Bo was eventually returned to Calder-Ritchie’s home by two men who found him in Hoon Hay. She expressed her relief at seeing Bo safe and sound, grateful that he was alive despite the ordeal.

Calder-Ritchie rewarded the men for their help and also thanked the person who provided the tip-off. Bo, still a bit shaken from the experience, is now back with his loving owners who have cared for him since his birth three years ago.
