BreachRx Secures $15 Million in Series A Funding to Enhance Incident Response Platform
BreachRx, a leading provider of incident response platforms for enterprises, has successfully closed a $15 million Series A funding round. The oversubscribed funding round was led by Ballistic Ventures, with additional participation from Overline, SYN Ventures, and Silver Buckshot Ventures.
The primary objective of this funding round is to bolster BreachRx’s incident response platform by expanding its go-to-market and engineering teams. The platform is specifically designed to provide a secure, central workspace for stakeholders across organizations to coordinate cybersecurity incident response management effectively.
One of the key features of the BreachRx platform is its ability to facilitate real-time collaboration, clearly define roles and responsibilities, and automate the creation of customized playbooks for various incidents. This streamlined incident response process aims to reduce costs and increase efficiency for enterprises, ultimately enhancing their cybersecurity posture.
Currently, BreachRx serves over 100 clients, including publicly traded and Fortune 500 companies in sectors such as financial services, technology, healthcare, and critical infrastructure. With the completion of this Series A funding round, the company’s total funding has now surpassed $23 million.
In addition to securing funding, BreachRx has also expanded its leadership team. Kevin Mandia, General Partner at Ballistic Ventures and former CEO of Mandiant, has joined the board of directors. Nicole Perlroth, former lead cybersecurity reporter at The New York Times, has taken on the role of board observer.
Mandia emphasized the importance of proactive cybersecurity incident response, stating, “Every company should consider how to prepare for and manage through a cyber incident â and BreachRx empowers companies to both plan and execute through cyber events in a manner that promotes far more effectiveness and resilience.”
Andy Lunsford, CEO and co-founder of BreachRx, expressed his excitement about the new additions to the leadership team, highlighting the valuable experience and expertise they bring to the company. He stated, “Kevin knows better than anyone the importance of transparency, speed, and precision in the response process. His experience, coupled with Nicole’s perspective from reporting on major cyberattacks, will be invaluable as we execute our next phase of growth.”
The recent funding round and leadership team expansion mark a significant milestone for BreachRx as it continues to innovate and advance its incident response platform. The company’s commitment to enhancing cybersecurity incident response capabilities underscores its dedication to helping organizations effectively navigate the evolving threat landscape.
