Recent concerns have been raised about the health of outgoing Republican leader Mitch McConnell after he reportedly fell following a lunch with GOP senators. According to Punchbowl News’s John Bresnahan, McConnell is currently receiving medical treatment from staff with a wheelchair who were called in to assist.

As a result of the fall, McConnell was unable to attend the press conference that followed and sustained a cut on his face.

This incident adds to McConnell’s history of health concerns in recent years. In March 2023, he suffered a fall at a Washington-area hotel which led to an extended period of treatment for a concussion.

One of the most memorable moments was when McConnell froze up during a Senate press conference in July of the previous year, and then again a month later.

Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
