Daniel Park, a Washington resident apprehended earlier this month under a federal criminal complaint for allegedly conspiring to assist Guy Edward Bartkus, the individual responsible for the bombing of a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, has reportedly died while in federal custody, as confirmed by the Justice Department.

According to CBS, “Daniel Park was discovered unresponsive at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Los Angeles, California. Staff members on-site initiated life-saving measures, and emergency medical services (EMS) were summoned as these efforts continued. Mr. Park was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.”

Earlier this month, the Justice Department revealed that “Daniel Jongyon Park, 32, of Kent, was arrested last night shortly after arriving at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York following a flight from Poland. He faces charges related to providing and attempting to provide material support to terrorists, making his initial court appearance today in the Eastern District of New York.”

Attorney General Pamela Bondi condemned the alleged actions, stating, “This defendant is charged with facilitating the horrific attack on a fertility center in California. Bringing chaos and violence to a facility dedicated to helping women and mothers is a particularly cruel and repugnant crime that strikes at the very heart of our shared humanity. We are grateful to our partners in Poland who aided in bringing this man back to America, and we will prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law.”

FBI Director Kash Patel added, “Park allegedly sent large amounts of explosive precursors to the individual who detonated a car bomb outside a fertility clinic in Palm Springs, an act that had the potential to claim innocent lives. The FBI, along with our partners, is committed to identifying and holding accountable those who engage in domestic terrorism and other illegal activities. I also want to express my thanks to authorities in Poland for their essential support in this case.”

U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli for the Central District of California remarked on the severity of the charges, noting, “This defendant is charged with shipping large quantities of explosive precursors to the man whose suicide bombing last month destroyed a fertility clinic in Palm Springs. Domestic terrorism is evil and unacceptable. Those who aid terrorists can expect to feel the cold wrath of justice.”

Notably, Bartkus, the bomber and self-identified anti-natalist, perished in the vehicle explosion last month.
