Jessica Madsen has landed a role in Prime Video’s upcoming Viking drama series “Bloodaxe” as Gunnhild, the wife of Viking raider Erik Bloodaxe. Known as the Mother of Kings, Gunnhild’s character is set to play a pivotal role in the series. Xavier Molyneux will portray the character of Eric Bloodaxe in the historical drama produced by MGM Television.
Madsen, who gained recognition for her portrayal of Cressida Cowper in Netflix’s hit series “Bridgerton,” will bring her talent to the new Viking saga. In “Bridgerton,” Madsen’s character is depicted as an antagonist who spreads gossip among debutantes. The versatile actor has also appeared in films such as “Leatherface,” “Rambo: Last Blood,” and “Dark Light.”
The series, created by Michael Hirst and his son Horatio Hirst, follows the power struggle of Erik Bloodaxe and Gunnhild as they vie for the throne of Norway.
