NBC Pulls Remaining Episodes of “Brilliant Minds” Medical Drama

NBC has made the decision to pull the final six episodes of the medical drama “Brilliant Minds” from its schedule. The show, along with other NBC primetime programming, was already scheduled to go on hiatus for the next two weeks to make way for coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympics. However, NBC has now announced that “The Voice: Battle of Champions” will be airing on Mondays from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT starting with the season premiere on Feb. 23.

The network has not provided a specific return date for “Brilliant Minds,” but the final episodes are expected to air later in the season or possibly over the summer. The decision comes as the show has experienced a decline in ratings during its second season. While the Season 2 premiere garnered a 0.28 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.67 million viewers, the most recent episode only managed a 0.19 rating and 2.6 million viewers.

It’s important to note that the ratings mentioned above do not account for streaming viewership on Peacock. Final decisions regarding the fate of “Brilliant Minds” will be made closer to NBC’s upfront presentation in May. In the meantime, NBC has five drama pilots in contention for the 2026-2027 season, including a reboot of “The Rockford Files.”

Meanwhile, “The Voice” Season 29 has been titled “The Battle of Champions” as the coaching panel is made up entirely of past “Voice” winners. The popular singing competition series is produced by MGM Television, Warner Horizon Unscripted Television, and ITV Studios The Voice USA, Inc. Created by John de Mol, the show’s executive producers include Mark Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Amanda Zucker, Kyra Thompson, Adam H. Sher, and Barry Poznick.
