Brittany Cartwright is in recovery following a recent surgical operation.
On Sunday, October 5, Cartwright, 36, revealed on Instagram that she had an unspecified surgical procedure, sharing a picture of her abdomen wrapped in compression bandages with surgical drains affixed to it, filled with red fluid.
“When they said ‘remove what no longer serves you,’ I took that to heart 💔,” the reality star captioned her post.
Us Weekly has reached out to Cartwright’s representative for further details.
The star of Valley provided a vague clarification of her surgery within the comments of her post. “Honestly, I keep it real with you all—so…I did something,” Cartwright noted. “It’s been on my mind for years, and I finally took the plunge for myself. I’m beyond happy. I’m still healing, but every day feels better (and lighter). Can’t wait to share more with you soon!”
In her mirror selfie, taken in an elegant bathroom, fans noticed a compression bra, leading to speculation about the nature of her surgery.
“I think she had a tummy tuck, but it seems she might have also removed her implants,” remarked a fan, referring to Cartwright’s breast augmentation shown in Season 4 of Vanderpump Rules. The procedure was funded by her estranged husband and former costar, Jax Taylor, from whom she filed for divorce in August 2024.
Among the supportive comments on her heartfelt post was a note from Kristen Doute, another Valley cast member. “My beautiful girl! She’s dropping that weight and upgrading!! @drpay @drjlayke,” Doute, 42, commented, tagging two Beverly Hills-based plastic surgeons.
Additionally, Cartwright showcased her recovery progress on her Instagram Stories on Sunday night, revealing a picture of a single rose placed in a small vase, a gift from her son, Cruz, 4. “Cruzy picked a flower from the garden for me to keep by my bedside as I recuperate,” she shared. “He comes by throughout the day with gentle hugs and kisses.” (Cartwright shares Cruz with Taylor, 46.)
In a March 21 episode of her podcast “When Reality Bites,” Cartwright mentioned she was considering breast surgery. “I often receive comments about my breasts, which can be irritating since I had my augmentation done nearly 10 years ago. I’ll need to get them redone soon,” she noted. “After having my son, my weight fluctuates dramatically, and my breasts are one of the first areas to change. Many people assume I’ve had additional procedures.”
She added, “I’m definitely contemplating this for the future, and I would prefer to go smaller.”
