Brodie Lee Jr. is the son of the late AEW icon, Brodie Lee, who joined the Jacksonville-based company in 2020 as a one-time TNT Champion. Sadly, he passed away in December of the same year due to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
The wrestling community felt a great loss with Lee’s passing. The New York native was admired not only for his exceptional skills in the ring but also for his kind nature. Fans around the world continue to miss him, with many believing he was destined to become the AEW World Champion.
Known as “The Exalted One,” he left behind his wife Amanda and two sons, Brodie and Nolan. Following his father’s death, Brodie Lee Jr. joined the Dark Order faction. At 14, he aspires to emulate his father’s career in wrestling and has been training for years. Remarkably, he made his in-ring debut at GCW Joey Janela’s Spring Break: Clusterf*ck Forever 2025, participating in a 90-person battle royal.
Brodie Lee Jr. emerged victorious in the battle royal by eliminating Joey Janela. The tension between the two wrestlers has been escalating, culminating in a face-off at GCW Maniac, where they signed a contract for their upcoming match at Spring Break X.
During the contract signing, the former AEW star made an offensive remark about the late Luke Harper, suggesting to Brodie Jr. that his mother might have to bury him just as she did his father. This comment infuriated Brodie, a Dark Order member, and his mother, leading to Brodie Jr. retaliating with a strong response. The segment was highly entertaining.
Brodie Lee Jr.’s Bond with Cody Rhodes
Cody Rhodes, the current Undisputed WWE Champion, and his wife, Brandi, share a close connection with Brodie Lee Jr.
In a recent conversation with the Wrestling Classic, Brodie Lee Jr. discussed his relationship with the Rhodes family. He recounted becoming emotional when they asked him to be the Godfather to their youngest daughter, Leilani.
“I started crying because I was like, ‘This is crazy how you helped me through all the stuff with my dad and now I’m the godfather of your new baby,’” he said. [H/T: Wrestletalk]
The future remains uncertain for Brodie Lee Jr., but there is hope that Tony Khan will sign him when he turns 18.
