NBC Orders Pilot for Untitled Detective Comedy from “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” Creators

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” co-creator Dan Goor and executive producer Luke Del Tredici have received a pilot order from NBC for an upcoming detective comedy. The project, with a humorous logline, aims to continue the legacy of Los Angeles private eyes from Philip Marlowe to this new show.

The pilot will be helmed by Goor and Del Tredici as executive producers, under the banner of Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. While details about the casting remain undisclosed at this point, the project is already generating buzz in the industry.

NBC’s recent pilot orders also include a drama inspired by FBI research, a family-focused law enforcement drama, and a modern take on “The Rockford Files” among others. The network is also developing a comedy series called “Last Chance Lawyer” starring Henry Winkler as a passionate defense attorney fighting for underdog clients.

Additionally, NBCUniversal has a comedy series titled “Dig” in collaboration with Michael Schur and Amy Poehler, revolving around archaeologists entangled in an international conspiracy. The show is slated to premiere on Peacock, NBC’s streaming service.
