Brooks Nader is set to make a splash on the small screen as she joins the cast of Fox’s upcoming “Baywatch” reboot. The former Sports Illustrated model and “Dancing With the Stars” alum will be taking on the role of Selene, the no-nonsense captain of the Zuma beach lifeguards.
In this modern take on the iconic series, Nader’s character will clash with lead lifeguard Hobie Buchannon, played by Stephen Amell. Their differing approaches to lifeguarding will create tension, especially when Hobie’s long-lost daughter, Charlie, joins the team. The rivalry between Selene and Hobie runs deep, adding an extra layer of drama to the already action-packed show.
Filming for the reboot is scheduled to begin this spring in Los Angeles, with locations ranging from Venice Beach to the Fox studio lot in Century City. Thanks to a generous tax credit from the state of California, the production has the resources to bring the sun-soaked beaches of Baywatch to life once again.
The new “Baywatch” series is being spearheaded by showrunner Matt Nix and a team of seasoned producers, including McG, Michael Berk, and Doug Schwartz. With a talented cast and crew on board, fans can expect a fresh take on the beloved show that pays homage to the original while offering a contemporary twist.
Nader’s casting comes after a rigorous open casting call that saw over 2,000 hopefuls auditioning for roles in the series. The talent behind the reboot is dedicated to bringing a new generation of viewers into the world of Baywatch, while also appealing to longtime fans of the classic show.
Represented by WME, Dixon Talent, Inc., and Leigh Fidler of Nader Sisters Inc., Nader is poised to make a big splash in her role as Selene. As she joins the ranks of iconic lifeguards past and present, audiences can look forward to seeing her shine on the shores of Zuma beach in the upcoming “Baywatch” reboot.
