Bryan Cranston Excited to Return for “Malcolm in the Middle” Reboot
Bryan Cranston recently shared some exciting updates about the highly anticipated reboot of the beloved TV show “Malcolm in the Middle.” In a recent interview with People, Cranston expressed his joy at reprising his role as Hal, the lovable patriarch of the Wilkerson family.
“Slipping back into that character of Hal for me was so rewarding — I missed him,” Cranston said. “It’s been almost 20 years since we said goodbye. And he’s a sweet, lovable man. It was fun to see all my whole family back together. It was great.”
The original “Malcolm in the Middle” aired for 151 episodes over seven seasons from 2000 to 2006. The show follows the life of Malcolm Wilkerson, a gifted teenager who struggles to find his place as the middle child in a dysfunctional family.
Fans will be delighted to know that the reboot will feature returning cast members Jane Kaczmarek, Frankie Muniz, Christopher Masterson, and Justin Berfield. However, Erik Per Sullivan will be replaced by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark as the youngest Wilkerson child, Dewy. Additionally, Kiana Madeira will join the cast as Tristan, Malcolm’s girlfriend. Other new additions to the series include Anthony Timpano, Vaughan Murrae, and Keeley Karsten.
The official description of the four-part reboot teases an exciting storyline: “Malcolm and his daughter are drawn into the family’s chaos when Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.”
