Man Allegedly Involved in ATM Theft Crew Faces Multiple Charges
Authorities have accused a man of being part of a prolific ATM theft crew, alleging that he continued to steal cash machines even after police discovered heavy chains in his vehicle that were believed to be used in the crimes.
Radonte Eatman, 25, is facing charges related to multiple incidents, including carrying firearms without proper holsters and driving a stolen vehicle with weapons in his possession.
The legal issues for Eatman began when officers spotted a firearm near his armpit while he was with a group of people on East 63rd Street. Despite having a concealed carry license, he was found with unholstered firearms in his vehicle.
Just weeks later, Eatman was allegedly driving a stolen car in Back of the Yards with loaded handguns and a machine gun in plain sight. Chains that could be used to extract ATMs were also discovered in the vehicle.
Charged with various offenses, Eatman is now accused of participating in ATM thefts while on pretrial release for previous cases. The theft crew he is allegedly part of has been linked to multiple incidents involving the use of chains and an SUV to steal ATMs.
In one incident, Eatman and his accomplices were caught on video using chains to pull ATMs from businesses. The stolen cash from these thefts resulted in significant financial losses for the targeted establishments.
Authorities have charged Eatman with burglary for his involvement in these crimes. He is currently in custody for violating his pretrial release conditions in connection with the possession of a machine gun.
