Organic Media Group, a production house based in Taipei and Los Angeles, has announced plans for a Chinese-language remake of the popular French comedy series “Call My Agent!” The announcement was made at the Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF).

The upcoming remake will focus on a top Asian talent agency, where a team of agents navigates the challenges of working with superstar clients, personal drama, and industry politics. This adaptation aims to cater to the global Chinese-speaking audience while also highlighting Taiwan’s entertainment industry. Despite the existence of a local Taiwanese series with similar themes, Organic Media Group sees this as an opportunity to create a unique and international version of the show.

CEO Steve Chicorel shared his vision for the remake, stating that they plan to add local nuances to make it relevant for Taiwanese viewers while also inviting talent from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Asian-Americans, and China to join the cast for worldwide distribution.

The production has enlisted the expertise of award-winning French producer Natacha Devillers, known for her work on projects like “Moon the Panda.” Devillers has been collaborating with Taiwanese director Wu Zhongtian and writer Yang Jingxiang on the adaptation. The project is currently in the financing stage and is poised to move into pre-production once co-financing commitments are secured.

In addition to the “Call My Agent!” remake, Organic Media Group has also announced three other series in development, all to be filmed in Taiwan. “Detective Daji” is a supernatural detective series starring Taiwanese actress Puff Kuo, while “Undertaker” follows the story of a misfit finding purpose at a Taiwanese funeral home. The third series, “Expats: Taiwan — A Day in the Life,” is an unscripted show exploring the experiences of expatriates living in Taiwan.

All four projects have secured U.S. distribution through Golden TV, a new all-Asian channel available to 20 million cable homes via the ChimeTV network. Organic Media Group, co-founded by Kelly Mi Li and Steve Chicorel in 2019, specializes in cross-market IP, talent, and distribution strategies, bridging the gap between Asian and U.S. platforms. With offices in Taipei and Los Angeles, the company is dedicated to creating innovative and culturally diverse content for a global audience.
