In March, social entrepreneur Suzy Amis Cameron, alongside entrepreneur Erik Stangvik and former Deloitte partner Blair Knippel, launched Inside Out, a revolutionary holding company with a mission to address the world’s most pressing challenges across various sectors.
Inside Out’s fashion textiles home vertical, led by sustainability expert Matteo Ward, has already made significant strides in the industry with the acquisition of WrÃ¥d, Sheep Inc., and the launch of organic children’s and womenswear brand, The Simple Folk.
We sat down with Suzy and Matteo to discuss their vision for Inside Out and how they plan to bring about sustainable change in the fashion industry.
Vogue: Why did you create Inside Out and what do you hope it will achieve?
Suzy: Inside Out was born out of a desire to unite various industries that impact our daily lives and the planet’s well-being. Our goal is to create a holistic ecosystem that addresses the needs of future generations and drives lasting change across education, fashion, food, media, and wellness.
Vogue: How does Inside Out plan to create sustainable change in the fashion industry specifically?
Matteo: Our focus goes beyond materials; it’s about redefining the fashion industry’s purpose and impact. We believe in building better brands and systems that prioritize sustainability, community impact, and transformative initiatives. By asking fundamental questions about the industry’s role and responsibilities, we aim to shape a more conscious and purpose-driven fashion landscape.
