As foldable smartphones with cover screens become more popular from brands like Samsung, Motorola, and Nubia, users are eager to explore the new features and functionalities they offer. One common question that arises among flip phone users is whether it’s possible to take a screenshot of the cover screen.

The answer is a definite “yes”, and if you own a device like the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Motorola Razr 50 Ultra, Nubia Flip 5G, or any other flip-style Android phone, here’s a comprehensive guide on how to do it.

How to take a screenshot on a flip phone

To capture a screenshot of a flip phone’s cover screen, simply press and hold down the power button and volume-down button simultaneously when the cover display is active. This method mirrors the traditional way of taking a screenshot on an Android device.

It’s important to note that the orientation of the volume buttons may change depending on whether the phone is folded open or closed. When the phone is folded shut, the volume-up button functions as the volume-down button and vice versa.

Upon successfully taking the screenshot, the screen will flash white to indicate that the screenshot has been saved. You can then unfold the phone, navigate to your gallery app, and access the captured image.

For additional methods of taking screenshots on your device, you can refer to our guides on how to take a screenshot on Android and how to take a screenshot on iPhone.
