While most commuters use the Blue Line to reach O’Hare for travel, Chicago police allege one individual has a different motive: car theft from airport parking garages.
A community alert released Tuesday afternoon by CPD detectives ties this man to three car thefts at O’Hare’s parking facilities since June 1. According to the alert, the suspect takes the Blue Line to the airport, proceeds to the parking garages, and tries vehicle door handles until he discovers one that is unlocked.
Once inside a vehicle with keys, the suspect reportedly drives off. He has been linked to stealing a Dodge Ram pickup and a Ford F-150, with the third vehicle’s make and model undisclosed. The suspect has even breached garage security gates during his escapes.
The thefts were reported by police to have occurred on June 1 at 5:14 a.m., June 30 at 10:25 p.m., and July 13 at 8:25 a.m. The suspect is described as a Black male, aged between 30 and 40, standing approximately 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, and weighing between 220 and 250 pounds.
